The staff and students at Walney School hosted a Jubilee party to great suceess.

The party was put on by Mrs Ryan and a team of year seven students. They welcomed some of the residents of Walney Island with afternoon tea.

Lucy Ryan, an English teacher at the school, said:

"The dining was decked with bunting and balloons. At 4pm, the guests arrived to an unprompted year seven guard of honour-which they formed themselves, with prompt.

"They were seated at tables festooned with flags, place mats handmade by year seven and a traditional tea service.

"The year seven students were professional and polite as they served the guests, and kept the tea topped up. The Queen's coronation played on the big screen and a nostalgic playlist completed the party atmosphere."
