A COUPLE who have successfully brought a taste of America to south Cumbria is launching a new menu.

The Ranch, Ulverston, sells traditional Texas tacos, burritos, and rice bowls with two different kinds of pulled meat, fresh salsa and guacamole.

Everything on the menu is gluten-free with a variety of vegan and vegetarian options, set in a Texan décor venue which has some stools for people to sit it but is typically enjoyed taken away.

Husband and wife duo Alex and Whitney Hunter, who was born and bred in Texas, explained that the new menu will stick to the 'authentic tex-mex fusion and 'continue to bring new and exciting things from Texas to Ulverston'.

Chef Whitney said the new menu would have a 'wider range of price points'.

"We will have a traditional taco section, simple texas taco truck tacos, set burritos and some nacho options," she said.

"We are keeping the 'all starts which are our house favourites and the other categories will be more basic set options.

"This will give people more choice in both food combos and price."

The menu is currently being finalised but Whitney and Alex are hoping to launch it next week.

Whitney said the community had been 'so supportive' of the couple's business venture.

"Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming, we already have some regulars that come in for lunch almost every day," she said.

"It has been really fun getting to know people in town and telling them about the food and where I come from."

Whitney said the team was having a 'really positive' experience.

She said: "It's a tonne of work for our little team but we are having a tonne of fun doing it.

"We would just like to thank all our customers. It means the world that they love the food, that they were willing to try the food and that they support us.

"We have enjoyed getting to know them and building a relationship with them, we are so grateful for the support."
