Barrow Raiders have been dealt a blow as a successful loan signing has been recalled by his parent club.

Sam Eseh, a powerful front-row forward, initially joined Raiders on a two-week loan deal from Wakefield Trinity in April but proved a popular addition during his short period with the club.

He has now signed up with Featherstone Rovers.

Barrow Raiders posted on social media:

"We wish Sam well and would have liked to have kept him but we have no control over players that are not ours.

"Barrow Raiders continue to scour the market for quality players to join our squad, and we would much prefer permanent signings, but once the season begins the loan market often offers more quality than picking up players that aren't attached to clubs."
