A junior football team has rounded off an almost faultless season in style by winning every tournament that they were involved in.

Swarthmoor Under-14s beat Crooklands Under 13s Blacks 7-0 on Saturday to win the Furness FA Cup Final.

This was their fourth trophy success of the season, having overcome Walney Under 13s 8-0 to win the Ulverston Hospital Under-14 Cup, as well as beating Furness Rovers Royal Under 14s to win the Barrow and District Juniors Football League Cup.

Swarthmoor Under-14s also won the Barrow and District Junior Under-14 Premier League, losing only one match - their final league game against Holker Old Boys Under 14s 2-1, meaning they won all four competitions, losing only one game in the entire season.

Jamie Walker, a parent of one player, said: "These lads deserve recognition. They've done the quadruple - something Liverpool couldn't do.

"They've been playing together since they were seven and they're so talented, they're the future of this region.

"We lost one of the lads, Daniel Marshall, during the season as Morecambe Academy offered him a two-year contract.

"Special thanks to Moorlands Service Station in Kirkby too, their kit sponsor."
