A PROPOSAL has been submitted retrospectively to convert a garage into a small beauty salon business.

A retrospective planning application has been put forward to Barrow Borough Council to approve the change of use of a residential garage to a beauty salon in Barrow’s Norland Avenue.

The salon has been trading since February 16 and is open from Monday to Saturday.

According to the Cumbria County Council travel form submitted with the application, the salon sees six clients per day, with one client seen per hour.

It states: “The only impact will be from additional cars parked outside the house, we have a large drive and clients are advised to park on the drive if no family members are already parked.

“A large number of clients live within walking distance.”
