THOSE with green fingers and a fine nib will be delighted by an event in a Furness town next month.

Ulverston in Bloom is hosting a free Poetry Workshop on Thursday, June 16 in the Ante Room at Coronation Hall.

This will be led by published Ulverston poet Caroline Gillfillan and the plan is to write some poems that can be displayed around town in some of the areas of planting.

No experience is necessary and the workshop will start at 10.15am and finish at 12.45pm.

The group asks that any attendees bring pen and paper and a drink for the break.

The workshop will begin with a warm up exercise and, weather permitting, will go outdoors to look at some planters and gardens such as Jubilee Gardens by the kiosk for some inspiration from the trees, flowers, birds and insects.

If it rains, green materials will be brought inside.
