Former Barrow AFC man Brad Barry is looking for a new club after being released by the Bluebirds' League Two rivals Stevenage.

The wing-back is among 15 players let go by the Lamex Stdium club in a major clear-out by manager Steve Evans.

Barry joined Stevenage last summer after leaving Holker Street, but made just 17 appearances in the 2021/22 campaign.

The 27-year-old admitted he had had a tough time during the season in a farewell post on Twitter.

He wrote: "Want to thank everyone at @StevenageFC especially the lads what a class bunch! It was difficult season for me on a personal note! But no regrets with anything as positives come from any situation!"

Barry was with Barrow from 2019 to 2021 and played a key part in helping the Bluebirds return to the EFL.

The former Chesterfield and Swindon Town man joins Scott Cuthbert, Ben Coker, Luke O’Neill, Luke Prosser, Sacha Bastien, James Daly, Harry Draper, Timmy Smith, Ed Upson, Chris Lines, Charlie Carter, Bruno Andrade, Sam Dreyer and Luis Fernandez in leaving Stevenage.

They finished fourth bottom in League Two, third points above Barrow.

While more League Two clubs have published their retained and released lists, news on Barrow's decisions are still to be announced.

It comes with the Bluebirds yet to make an announcement on manager Phil Brown's future.
