Barrow AFC boss Phil Brown will give Aaron Amadi-Holloway as much time as possible to prove his fitness for this weekend’s trip to Swindon.

The loan frontman sat out the 2-1 defeat at Exeter City on Tuesday with injury.

Amadi-Holloway is back in training ahead of AFC’s last away game of the campaign, but Brown says the big striker is touch and go.

“He’s training and is at the Gloucester FA with us [today], and he’ll give himself every chance, but if anything I think we’re only going to see Aaron for the last game of the season.

“But I haven’t given up hope for him as regards this weekend yet.

“I’ll see what the physios and fitness coach have to say and then we’ll look at him again.

“If he can start he will start. At the same time, I’m not holding out too much hope. However, I hope to see him next weekend against Northampton.”

Brown will have Josh Kay back for the Swindon trip after suspension.

The manager said: “I’m looking forward to Josh coming back in. He’s a bundle of energy, very unpredictable as a player, and he will hopefully cause Swindon some problems.”

Kay had been dismissed amid the goal celebrations when Barrow beat Sutton 1-0 to seal their survival.

Manager Brown said: “It’s interesting having a conversation with Josh. I didn’t realise he had qualified as a referee a couple of years back.

“With that in mind, for him to say he didn’t swear to the referee…shows a different picture.

“But don’t want to get myself into hot water by saying anything more. The lad got sent off in the euphoria of us scoring the goal that probably kept us in the EFL.

“With that in mind we have to thank Paul Farman for the penalty save, because it might have cost him a lot of money otherwise…”
