A MUSICAL comedy sensation group raised the roof at The Forum.

The Lancashire Hotpots visited the Barrow venue on their ‘Chips & Giggles’ tour on Saturday - and had the whole crowd off their seats dancing.

From Glastonbury festival to writing jingles for Holland's Pies, The Lancashire Hotpots have been entertaining the nation since 2007 with comedy songs about chippy teas, shopmobility scooters as well as how to smuggle your own sweets into the cinema.

The five-piece – featuring Bernard Thresher on vocals and guitar, Dickie Ticker on melodica and hand percussion, Bob Wriggles on bass, Billy McCartney on keys and drummer Kenny Body – have been regular visitors to the region since forming almost a decade ago.

Dickie Tricker said: “A fantastic time was had on Saturday night for the Lancashire hotpots show at The Forum by both audience and band alike.  The event was just shy of selling out and the packed theatre had a blast.

“One of the features of a Hotpots show is audience participation in various forms and we had the audience doing lots of actions and they were in very good voice as you can hear in the video.

“We had them dancing in the aisles and at the front of the stage too. We even had a conga which went out of the auditorium and into the foyer.

“All in all, a fantastic night. In times like these, it's just great to be able to party on a Saturday night and bring so much fun and pleasure into people’s lives."

Since exploding onto the scene in 2007, The Lancashire Hotpots have become a truly Nationwide sensation with a cavalcade of some of daftest and catchiest songs imaginable (Chippy Tea, I Fear Ikea and Egg, Sausage Chips & Beans to name but a few).

The Lancashire Hotpots will also be bringing some main stage fun to this year’s Kendal Calling.
