RESIDENTS have taken to social media to voice their opinion as the bin strikes resume.

GMB Union members who work for FCC Environment first went on strike last Wednesday and spent three days stationed outside of the Salthouse Road depot.

The strike comes after a conflict over pay negotiations. The current round of bin strikes are currently taking place and will end later today.

On social media, residents are voicing their thoughts on the strike.

Ange Mullen said: "Totally support them and I hope they get what they have asked for."

Elaine Ferguson said: "I'm sorry but I don t think they should be allowed to strike this is a health issue, I have rats already one jumped out of my bin! and it's only been 2 weeks, I remember the strikes in the 80s you couldn't walk down the road for rubbish bags."

Rohan Suart asked, "Do we get a rebate on a council tax now then for paying for something we are not getting?"
