Barrow AFC players and staff have made a donation to ensure the Bluebirds Trust can run a fans’ coach to Bristol Rovers tomorrow.

The club have announced that Mark Cooper’s team are putting their hands in their pockets to cover free spaces on a supporters’ coach.

The trust has thanked the players and staff for the generous gesture.

They hope it will help ensure the trust can run the coach for the 500+ mile round trip ahead of another key game in the Bluebirds’ survival bid.

Trust chairman Steve Herbert said: “It was Ryan Sutherland who came up with the idea and the players and staff were on board with it straight away.

“It’s a wonderful gesture from the team and it just shows how much they appreciate the support away from home, particularly in midweek.

“I am sure that everyone who makes it to the Memorial Stadium on Tuesday will get right behind the lads again from the first whistle and hopefully it can spur them on to a positive result.”

Anyone who would like to claim a free place on the coach can email info@bluebirdstrust.co.uk

Bookings are still being taken for the coach, which will leave Ramsden Square at 12.15pm on Tuesday.
