CHILDREN at Fairfield Primary School in Cockermouth took part in an exciting day last week as they enjoyed a 'meet and bleat' with some very special guests.

As part of a project reading the Three Billy Goats Gruff children from the school were joined by goats Flo and Audrey for a morning of fun.

Deputy Head Teacher, Jordan Gale said: "At Fairfield Primary School, we love to bring reading to life for our children.

"Our Reception classes have been reading Three Billy Goats Gruff and were delighted to have a "meet and bleat" with the goats, Flo and Audrey.

"The children were keen to ask lots of questions and excited to discover that they are expecting kids. We now have plans to experience bottle feeding animals next month.

"Aldi kindly donated some goats cheese for the children to sample too, which the children thought was both tangy and delicious."
