  • Barrow Park

The park at Barrow has been visited by thousands every year, both local residents, schools and visitors to the area. With it's peaceful atmosphere and picturesque surroundings the park is a favourite for photographers, people looking for a spot to picnic and days out with families.

Joshua McKee said: "We have a lovely park with a little white bridge also their is the wildlife also we have a great community."

  • The Residents

The members of the community have a strong bond which reflects in their kindness, care of each other and how they were able to come together during times of difficulty. Particularly during the pandemic.

Haslam Tyson said: "The lovely lady who cleans our A590 verges for free. Bagging it up. The Council don't clean it. There are a lot of bags of rubbish by the side of the road. She saves them £1000s."

  • The How Tun Woods

A beautiful spot to visit for lovers of nature and those who wish to briefly escape the urban scene.

How Tun Woods is a remarkable beauty spot with fine views over the sea to the Isle of Man Scotland Morecambe Bay and the Lake District.

It is also known for it's very enjoyable circular walk of 800m mostly surfaced which provides a choice of routes for visitors to explore and benches to rest on whilst admiring the views.

Tom Ashton named the How Tun Wood as one of the things he loves most about Barrow.
