A MAN in his 40s has tragically died after falling around 100 metres at a Lake District crag.
Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT), the police and the ambulance service were called out to the incident at West Raven Crag, Great Langdale, at 11.15am on Friday.
An LAMRT spokesman said the man 'sustained serious head injuries and was declared to have died at the scene'.
The spokesman said: "They had been climbing. They were moving across the top of the crag and he's taken some kind of fall across some really rough ground."
