Barrow AFC star Ollie Banks has signed a new two-and-a-half year deal.
The Bluebirds' ten-goal top scorer has committed his future to the Holker Street club.
The news is a boost for Barrow after a period of speculation regarding Banks' future.
He had been the suject of rumours linking him with Bradford City.
But 29-yeard-old Banks is now committed to Barrow until the summer of 2024.
The club confirmed the news ahead of this afternoon's home clash with Mansfield Town.
Manager Mark Cooper confirmed there had been transfer interest in the versatile midfielder.
“There’s been interest in Ollie, but we’re absolutely delighted he’s decided to stay,” he said.
“I think it shows a bit of ambition from the club to make sure we tie up one of our best players and his performances this season have certainly warranted the new deal.
“I have always liked him as a player whenever I’ve come up against him - he’s very good technically, but the fact he is 6ft 3in and really powerful which also helps.
“When I got to the club, I didn’t really understand why he hadn’t been a regular, but he was always going to play for me, he’s performed well, and he’s been a leader on and off the pitch.
“Hopefully the fans can continue to get behind Ollie and the rest of the team and we can really kick on now.”
