A KENDAL man will appear in court on Monday over allegations of animal cruelty.
Paul Joseph Spinks, 31, of Overdale Close, was charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal - a bull terrier type dog named Snoop.
The offence took place between August 2, 2021, and September 2, 2021, at a property on Yewbarrow Terrace in Grange-over-Sands.
He also faces a charge under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 for failing to ensure the dog's needs were met in relation to; failing to provide adequate nutrition, failing to provide any or adequate parasitic control, and leaving the animal periodically unattended without making adequate arrangements for the animal’s care in his absence on or before September 2, 2021 at the same location.
