'Lets get on with living'.

That's the message from readers after we asked if Covid-19 should be classed as a flu-like illness.

Karen Ohara said: "Yes as the people have said its a flu." Stewart Beckman said: "Yes it's just a cold at the end of the day."

Sam Allen said: "Definitely NOT!! Flu comes and goes and doesn't leave people maimed.... Unlike covid can..... Just think of the long covid sufferers, yes to die from flu or covid is awful for the family and friends but so is living with the long term effects physically and mentally."

Sharon Smith said: "It is flu some but was death for those when we weren’t jabbed, this last variant was nothing to the first one, it will still take out the weak and vulnerable."

Christopher Tempest said: "It's the same as the 1917 flu pandemic just put us all in a different situation because we travel more these days, so variants will always come just like the flu."
