Barrow AFC have made Leicester City frontman Jacob Wakeling their third signing of the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old has joined the Bluebirds on loan until the end of the season.

Wakeling further bolsters Mark Cooper's attacking options after the earlier capture of Sunderland striker Will Harris.

And it offsets this week's loan departure of Offrande Zanzala to Exeter City.

Wakeling joins Harris and Burnley loan defender Anthony Glennon through the door at Holker Street this month.

Both Wakeling and Harris will be hoping for debuts in this weekend's trip to Colchester United.

Wakeling joined Leicester in November 2020 after impressing for non-league side Alvechurch.

The former West Bromwich Albion youngster has featured for the Foxes' development squad since then, while his appearances for their Under-21s in the Papa John's Trophy included an outing in the 1-0 defeat at Barrow this season.

Wakeling scored against Fleetwood in an earlier Trophy outing in 2021/22. He also netted at Tranmere in the same competition last season.
