A CINEMA owner is planning on installing CCTV after a window of their door was smashed by vandals.

Northern Morris Cinemas' managing director Charles Morris said The Roxy in Ulverston is bolstering its security after being 'plagued with antisocial behaviour' for weeks.

He has assured cinema goers the group of youths he believes are responsible are being kept out.

"This is something that has been getting worse over the last few months," he said.

"We have recognised the group of kids doing this.

"They came into the cinema once and made a nuisance of themselves and they have been coming around for a while since.

"We had to kick them out in the end."

This was the most serious incident though, Mr Morris states, which may cost hundreds of pounds to fix.

He is looking to get the community together in order to deal with this group and help police catch them collaboratively.

"I think we need to create a neighbourhood watch as I understand they are known around the area," he said.

"One of my staff members spoke to me about getting CCTV just two or three hours before this happened and I approved it.

"That will be happening very soon, possibly in the next week or two."

He hopes that getting the community together will help spread the word and wants parents to ensure they know what their children are doing when they are going out.

Police are investigating the issue.
