A new fundraising initiative has been launched to support a long-running campaign in Grange.

Staff at Nutwood Medical Practice in Grange are embarking on a 3000 mile walk around coastal Britain to raise money for Save Grange Lido and Nutwood Charitable Trust.

The team will be starting the challenge in January and have set a target of £2000, to be split 50/50 between the two charities.

Aimee Taylor of Nutwood Medical Practice said: "We have chosen to support Save Grange Lido due to the health benefits having a swimming pool on the doorstep will have for our community."

Save Grange Lido is working in partnership with South Lakeland District Council upon a two-phase restoration of the Lido, which has been in disuse as a swimming pool since 1993.

The Nutwood team are raising funds to help pay for the next stages of work towards re-opening Grange Lido as a swimming, leisure, community and heritage attraction.

The Nutwood Charitable Trust was established in 2018 by patients and staff at the Practice to support the promotion of health and delivery of services to the population served by the Practice, and are currently raising money to buy a new ECG machine.
