WITH the uncertainty of travelling abroad expected to continue, people can plan ahead for their domestic trips with the launch of the official Lake District, Cumbria Holiday Guide 2022.

As the county’s official Destination Management Organisation, Cumbria Tourism has launched the new 100-page showpiece publication to ensure people have all the inspiration and practical information they need to make forward plans for 2022, including places to sleep, eat, drink and experience.

The publication covers all corners of the county, from the Lake District, to Cumbria’s West Coast, Morecambe Bay, the Eden Valley and North Pennines, the historic city of Carlisle and the Yorkshire Dales.

It is easily accessible in a digital format on www.visitlakedistrict.com. Meanwhile, 60,000 printed copies are also being made available in strategic locations and on-demand by postal request to help promote the region as an inspiring place to rediscover, reconnect and recharge.

The 2022 guide breaks down everything people need to know into simple sections, covering key locations and attractions, hidden gems and how to get to and around Cumbria – as well as how to access adventure, culture, relaxation and family fun.

Cumbria’s award-winning food and drink offering also enjoys the spotlight, along with an unbeatable list of things to do outdoors and a diverse range of accommodation from traditional hotels, guesthouses and campsites to quirkier experiences including glamping pods, yurts and shepherd’s huts.

Gill Haigh, Managing Director of Cumbria Tourism, says, “I am extraordinarily proud of all the Lake District, Cumbria has to offer.

"The Cumbria Tourism team and I are constantly finding something new to discover and surprise – a breath taking view, a great pub or place to stay, a piece of history, an unforgettable attraction or experience. It’s exciting, exhilarating and it’s above all, good for the soul.

“Not only do we have a world class environment with so many amazing things to see and do, but our businesses have shown immense adaptability to maintain inspiring, COVID-safe experiences to lift people’s spirits. They also understand customers’ continuing need for flexibility over the coming months.

“By booking early, people have the chance to reserve the best dates, line up their preferred choices and give themselves something to look forward to for the coming year.”

The Lake District, Cumbria Holiday Guide 2022 is available to download for free on the region’s official visitor website www.visitlakedistrict.com, operated by Cumbria Tourism.
