CUMBRIA County Council’s Adult Learning service is sending a New Year’s invitation to showcase what 2022 can bring.

Online Q&A sessions, which are part of Adult Learning’s New You in ’22 campaign, will be put on to help everyone start the new year on a path to achieve their goals.

The Adult Learning service offers a range of courses - many of which are completely free - across a broad curriculum to support the people of Cumbria to achieve their goals.

The online Q&A sessions are an opportunity to find out more about the courses that are right for you - from the comfort of your home.

In Covid-uncertain times, there are over 80 courses delivered in real-time online, offering a safe and flexible way to learn.

For those starting the new year looking for a new job, there are free courses including ‘Create Your CV’ and ‘Interview Preparation’. Looking for a new career path and new qualifications?

Health & Wellbeing will be a priority for many in the New Year. There are free courses in mindfulness, resilience, positive thinking and for those who love the great outdoors - even navigation skills for the hills.

With over 250 courses available now, these are just a taster of the range on offer.

Deborah Earl, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Community Services said: “There’s no doubt that 2021 has been another tough year for Cumbria. As the year draws to a close, we all think about new beginnings and making positive changes to our lives.

"Learning is the key to taking charge of achieving our goals.

“Our Adult Learning service offers a fantastic range of courses with incredibly experienced tutors.

"There’s something for everyone. Most of our courses are completely free and we’re offering more courses online than ever.

I’d really encourage everyone with aspirations for the New Year to join one of the online Q&A sessions to find out what learning can do for you.”
