A HOTEL has hailed it's opening weekend a success after they received positive feedback from customers.

The Temperance Inn, Ambleside opened it's doors on Friday, 17. The hotel was officially opened by Lake District superstars Max, Paddy and Harry after a 12 month refurbishment.

The opening was described as a 'huge success' by staff. Marketing Manager, Zoe Cooper said: "Opening night was a huge success.

"We saw lots of people joining us for our festive ribbon cutting. We then opened our doors to the public at 3pm and had an extremely busy opening weekend. "

Formerly The Churchill Inn, this historic building, which dates back to the 1800s has been completely transformed by The Inn Collection Group, who has twice been named Best Pub Employer in the national Publican Awards.

As well as having Max, Paddy and Harry open the hotel gave free drink vouchers to residents and tourists, Zoe said: "A further part of our reopening celebrations including supporting local charities Lake District Search and Rescue Association and the Lake District Foundation, where customers were given ‘charity chips’ to donate to either charity once inside the inn."

The interior has been completely remodelled to create a new bar and dining room area that embraces the street food concept, with an industrial feel, marble counters and Italian-style patina mirrors.

Zoe said that the customer feedback was 'fantastic' she said: "We’re overwhelmed with the positive feedback we’ve received so far. Our offering is very different to anything else in Ambleside which makes The Temperance Inn a unique place to visit, and so far our visitors seem to be extremely impressed."

As the Omicron Covid variant spreads throughout the UK people have been putting their Christmas plans on hold, on whether or not the team were worried due to the Covid uncertainty, Zoe said: "Given the current climate we were apprehensive of course, however, we are confident in the steps we had taken across the estate to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff and visitors.

"We’ve introduced and continued to implement a range of additional cleaning protocols in addition to our already thorough processes."
