BARROW Raiders have welcomed a new signing after the unfortunate departure of one of the squad's aces.

Jamie Dallimore, 33, who has been playing for the squad since 2016 has unfortunately left the squad due to being unable to commit to the team in the future.

Dallimore's departure came due to work and family commitments, leaving behind a reputation as being one of their most valued players.

He was also a nominee for the league’s Player of the Year at following the previous season.

The club have wished him the best for his future, as well as his family who recently saw the birth of his son.

Following his departure, Raiders will see the development of aces Jake Carter and Ryan Johnston who will be moving up to help fill the gap left by Dallimore.

Raiders have also recently signed the former Super League half-back Jarrod Sammut for the 2022 Betfred Championship season.

Sammut was announced as part of Coach Paul Crarey’s side in the run up to the team's upcoming campaign in division two following Barrow's entrance into League one last year.

Paul Crarey said: "It is unfortunate that Jamie had to leave us but he's got a young family and other work commitments so it is very understandable about the situation.

"He's been great for us since he's been here and we wish him the best for both his family and his work.

"It's great for us having Jarrod Sammut with us.

"He's played at a high level for a long time and he's a player who is very similar to Jamie in terms of style and experience."

Barrow Raiders Ladies have also announced the signing of former Wigan winger Christina Tully for their upcoming 2022 Betfred Women’s Super League season.
