THE FOURTH instalment of a fundraising album is set to launch this week.

Bags of Love returns on Friday with their fourth album - showcasing local talent while raising money for Barrow Foodbank.

The 25-track-long album features tunes from artists such as Sugar Foot, The Spiratones and the organiser himself, Jonny Swift.

Jonny said: "Loads of people have contacted me wanting to be involved, this time around there has had a lot of involvement from the local community.

"We've also got two bands from down south involved, a band from Kent and a band from Portsmouth - it's been good!"

So far, the Bags of Love fundraising efforts have raised more than £4,000.

Jonny said: "I have been doing live gigs as well which has been raising money.

"I have my next live event on December 10, at the Newton Arms in Dalton.

"We also did some fundraising in the summer at Fudstock, we were part of the festival with our own stage and we had donation tins out."

Bags of Love has grown massively since the first album was created in early 2020.

He said: "It started out 18 months ago in the first lockdown/ The first album we did raised £250. I wasn't planning on it going anywhere after that but 12 months ago I started it up again and it escalated to online festivals and other avenues like the live shows!

"I am passionate about music and I am passionate about showcasing local music. I think that there is a lot of talent in the local area, in Barrow and the wider furness area, and these albums helps bring all that together and showcase it, putting it all in one place for people to listen to and for people to see that there are a lot of creative people in the area doing things."

Proceeds from the album will be donated to Barrow Foodbank.
