A suicide prevention charity is launching a new action group in Copeland next month and invited people along to the first event.

Every Life Matters has invited residents to the first meeting of the Suicide Safer Copeland Action Group.

These meetings are for anyone in the Copeland community who wants to make a difference about suicide, and an opportunity to:

• Learn more about suicide and its impact in Cumbria

• Some of the myths and facts about suicide and suicide prevention

• Find out what we can all do to play a part in preventing suicides

• Hear from people who have already taken action in their local community

• Meet others in Copeland who are keen to take action and make a difference

• Begin to plan a range of suicide prevention activity in your local area

ELM invites people to bring their ideas, enthusiasm and the hope that this can make a difference.

The event is on Thursday, December 9, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Whitehaven AFC.

This event is free to attend and refreshments provided. Register at Eventbrite.
