BARROW Raiders have released images of the inside of their marquees ahead of the inaugural Oktoberfest event this weekend.

The Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium is expected to see a capacity attendance as it plays host to one of the town's biggest events ever with four marquees being put up for the thousands attending on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

12,000 litres of beer were delivered Monday morning as well as more than 1,500 steins.

Viking Spice will be providing the traditional German food: Bratwurst, frankfurters, Currywurst, fries, and pretzels.

Raiders chairman Steve Neale was inspired to create the event after going to the Oktoberfest event in Bavaria.

He hopes to replicate the success in Barrow for all those that would like to go, but cannot due to the Covid-19 restrictions currently in place for travelling abroad and the fact it has been cancelled in Munich.
