THE number of coronavirus cases in Barrow increased by 37 in the last 24 hours, official figures show.
A total of 9,236 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in Barrow when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on October 13, up from 9,199 on Tuesday.
The rate of infection in Barrow now stands at 13,842 cases per 100,000 people, higher than the England average of 12,441.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 41,446 over the period, to 8,272,883.
However, there were no new coronavirus deaths recorded in the latest 24-hour period in Barrow.
The dashboard shows 168 people had died in the area by October 13 – which was unchanged from Tuesday.
It means there have been no deaths in the past week, which is a decrease on one the previous week.
They were among 19,493 deaths recorded across the North West.
The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid-19, and whose usual residence was in Barrow.
The figures also show that three-quarters of people in Barrow have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
