A CHIP shop is still up for sale more than a year and a half since it was first put on the market.

The owner of Lakeland Continental chip shop, or Conti, Christos Alexandrou decided to hang up his apron after more than 30 years of serving Ulverston customers last year.

The Greek businessman, who also owns the takeaway Walney Conti, announced last year that he was bidding farewell to his King Street chip shop which he will ‘dearly miss’.

In February last year, Mr Alexandro said: “I’m getting a bit old now and thought it was time to do something different - something which requires less work and doesn’t mean getting up at 7am and going to bed at midnight.”

However, the chip shop is still up for sale on Corrie & Co more than 18 months after it was first put on the market.

According to the online listing, this is a 'rare opportunity to purchase a centrally located, thriving business which is well-established with a stable existing client base.'

Offers are in the region of £90k. Enquiries should be directed to Corrie & Co on 01229 525333.
