A THRIVING market stall is moving to the town centre - two years after first setting up business.

Environmentally-friendly and zero-waste market stall The Eco Shop was opened in Barrow Market by couple Brian and Barbara Cairns in September 2019 in a bid to give the people of Barrow more options for eco friendly living

The shop provides a variety of household cleaning, body care and gift items, as well as refill stations for toiletries such as shampoo and hand soap.

After expanding their stall, the Cairns continued to build a loyal client base - and have decided to open up their own shop in Scott Street.

"All our customers are really supportive of the move," Mrs Cairns said.

"This is something that we've always aimed for since setting up the stall and when this shop came up, we jumped at the chance.

"It's an exciting but scary chapter.

"I'm very nervous because it is a bit of a risk, especially opening a new store after a pandemic but we've decided to just go for it."

Mrs Cairns said she is 'very proud' of how far the couple's business has come over the past two years.

"This business is like my baby," she said.

"We've put everything into this and really hope it works out.

"We would like to thank all our customers for their continued support over the past two years and look forward to welcoming you to our new shop."

The Eco Shop will be closing its market stall on Friday September 24 whilst they make their move into the new premises in Scott Street.
