A MOTORIST has been fined and banned from the road after he was caught drink driving on the M6 northbound near Carlisle.
Sohaib Saif Ullah, 30, committed the offence on June 29, the city's Magistrates' Court heard.
He pleaded guilty to the offence. At the time, he was driving a Hyundai at Todhills, north of Carlisle. A test showed he had 41mcg of alcohol in 100mls of breath.
The defendant, of Highfield Circle, Muir of Ord, was fined £140 and given a 12 month ban. The defendant must pay £85 costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
