THE Conference season (Cumbria section) closed with defeats for local teams Barrow Island and Millom.
Barrow Island went down to leaders and undefeated Wath Brow after taking a 6-4 lead in the opening minutes with a Shane Sanderson try and Sam Jones conversion.
However the Brow stepped up a gear to lead 22-6 at the break and rounded off the eighty minutes with a 44-6 win.
Dan Wright was named Islands man of the match.
Millom went down 52-16 at home to Kells but had the better of the second half after trailing 40-0 at the break.
The second half revival produced tries through Astin Mossop 2, and Reuban Lancaster with two conversions from Rickie Donaghue.
Barrow Island are home to Egremont this coming Saturday in the conference cup.
Dalton “A” are through to the top four play offs final after overcoming Ulverston 46-6 at Dragley Beck.
Tries came via Ryan Baines 2, Adam Ellis, Brad Richards,Tyler Batty, Joe Crarey, Cavan Armstrong and Tom Sharp with seven goals from Zac Steel.
Dalton now face Barrow Island in the final, Island going through as Millom failed to raise a team.
On Thursday at Craven Park Walney take on Barrow Island in the Harry Warman cup final kick off 7-30pm
Barrow Ladies were victors over Stanningley by 24 points to ten, tries coming from Michelle Larkin, Alice Rush 2, Sam Norman and Beth Lindsay with two goals from Beth Pattinson.
