IN 2015, tens of thousands of people poured through the gates of the region’s largest agricultural show.
Organisers behind the Westmorland County Show are putting the finishing touches to preparations for the 216th event to be held at the County Showfield, at Crooklands.
The year before had seen a record-breaking crowd of 30,000 enjoyed a feast of farming sights and attractions as well as a full programme of family entertainment.
Christine Knipe, chief executive of the Westmorland Agricultural Society, which organises the show every year, said excitement was building ahead of the opening of the gates.
“To be blessed with such a good forecast for show day, like last year, is absolutely phenomenal, particularly in Cumbria,”
