A POPULAR music festival is set to make its return to south Cumbria this weekend.

Final preparations are underway for Sunshine Groove, held at The Sun Inn in Ulverston. It returns on Saturday to offer 14 hours of live music across four stages packed with a lineup of talented musicians ready to hit the decks. And for the first time, acoustic musicians will also take to the stage.

95 per cent of the artists performing are from the local area.

The Sun Inn, renowned for hosting sought-after live music events, is one of six pubs in Cumbria operated by Lakeland Inns.

Lakeland Inns managing director Kirsty Ridge said the free music festival would be packed with entertainment and was one not to be missed.

She said: “It’s fantastic that we are able to put on this exceptionally popular event once more. Sunshine Groove was always a big date in the diary for so many people before the Covid pandemic so we can’t wait to welcome everyone back again.

“It’s going to be an unforgettable festival packed with entertainment and with more than 20 DJ’s performing, we know there will be a lot of people looking forward to joining us for our last music event of the summer.”

The event will last between 12pm- 2.30am.

Among the talent will be performers Strikeone, Joel Talbot, Vinyl Cellar, Shelly’s Bane, Chatty, Mal Lingard, Paul Jamez, Tribe Djs, Musical Mayhem, Soulotto, Fallback Productions, Mister B, Zac Thompson, and Monster Monster.
