A COPELAND school is to allow children an extra day off in December for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The nation will enjoy an additional day's bank holiday in June next year to mark her 70th anniversary as monarch.
And, although the June celebration will fall during a half-term holiday, Millom School has said it will still allow children the day off - but in December instead.
A spokesman for the school said the last day of school prior to Christmas would be Thursday, December 16, rather than the Friday.
