A SECTION of A-road near Millom is now closed owing to a collapsed wall and 'the likelihood of danger to the public'.
Vehicles are unable to drive along 100m of the A5093 at The Green.
The closure, lasting for up to 21 days, began today.
The rules apply to a stretch of road beginning 400m south of the A5093's junction with the A595 and 'extending in a southerly direction for a total distance of approximately 100m'.
A county council spokesman said it was anticipated the restrictions would be in place for two weeks.
"A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times," he said.
"A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be available via the unrestricted sections of the A5093 and A595."
