A WHALE was found washed up at a Cumbrian beach over the weekend.
After being called out to ordnance on Sunday morning, Millom Coastguard Rescue Team were then tasked to Haverigg Point after a deceased whale was spotted there.
The team confirmed that photographs and measurements were taken and sent to the Natural History Museum via Holyhead.
Whales are classified as 'royal fish', therefore any washed ashore belong to the monarch after a statue enacted during King Edward II's reign.
