MILLOM appears to have escaped Storm Fleur without excessive damage - despite the British Red Cross placing its emergency teams on standby across the North last week.
Thunderstorms and flood warnings were put in place ahead of the weekend.
Millom councillor Angela Dixon reflected on how Fleur had impacted the town, which has suffered flooding in the past.
She said: “I think there were a few scared people because it got to the stairs at the back [of houses].
“I think there were a couple of houses that it might have got in.”
Fellow Millom councillor Tess Fitzwilliam said there was some flooding but that the council and United Utilities ‘managed it very well’.
“I think everybody was quite satisfied with the outcome in the end,” she said.
“There weren’t too many problems.”
