A CHARITY football match will take place this weekend to the delight of young football stars.

Kicking off on Sunday at 2pm, coaches and parents will go head to head whilst raising money for a football league.

Matt Pedley, coach for Millom U9s Blacks, said: "I coach the Millom u9s Blacks and I've organised a charity game to raise money towards the league our kids play in.

"Football gave us all some normality during the pandemic and it would be nice to give something back to them!

"It's basically a Coaches vs Parents game.

"The money is being raised for the Barrow and District Junior Association Football League.

"It will be a full length game as well."

The match will take place at the Millom Rugby League grounds.

Coach Pedley said that there will also be lots of fun activities taking place for the children to enjoy.

There will be a sweet stand, a face painting stall, a bouncy castle and glitter tattoos.

There will also be a raffle taking place.

To attend the fundraising event, kids entry costs 50p, and adults cost £1.

Mr Pedley said: "Every penny made on the day is going to the donation."

The grounds will open at 12.
