A BARROW charity event is making a return this year.

Rampside Rush will return on September 19, with a 5k and 10k running event.

The races are out-and-back routes which start and finish at Rampside Village Hall and entrants are asked to raise a minimum sponsorship of £20 on top of the race entry with all proceeds going to CancerCare.

Both races are family-friendly and all finishers will receive a medal and finishers t-shirt.

Chris Kay from Tri-Island Running said: “We are excited to be working again with CancerCare. We have all, in some way, been affected by cancer and and CancerCare do a superb job of ensuring that they provide the support and care for individuals and families that are going through the challenges that this illness brings with it.

“We are hoping to build on 2019 and see an even greater turnout for the 2021 event. We have all had tough times as a result of the pandemic and it is certainly much-needed for us, after all this time, to get back out running as a group, as a team, and as a community once again. Supporting each other in the challenges we take on and ultimately celebrating as we cross that finish line.”
