AN ACT of vandalism against a South Lakes pharmacy that saw anti-vaccine messages painted on its exterior has been branded an ‘absolute disgrace’ by readers.

Thomas Bell Pharmacy in Ambleside saw messages such as ‘500 deaths’ and ‘NO’ daubed on its frontage on Saturday night.

And readers reacted angrily after seeing the news.

Kate Humphreys said: “We spotted that today, driving past. Poor guy, having to scrub it off. How vile for someone to do this!”

Heather Cockett Phillips said: “The perpetrators don’t want a vaccine, but they appear vulnerable to stupid pills.”

Carol Pemberton said: “Entitled to an opinion but NOT entitled to cause vandalism.”

Meriel Fowler said: “Pathetic behaviour by cretins.”

Joshua Spencer Gilroy said: “It is an absolute disgrace and a cowardly attack on health professionals and their place of work by uneducated and ignorant people.

“This family-run pharmacy is an excellent local service to Ambleside and, as a student nurse, I have received my first dose here and will be proud to receive my second in two weeks’ time.

“Proud of all the staff who are supporting the community.”

Shannon Rook said: “Absolute disgrace!

“I went there to get my jab and Ravi was so lovely and so were the rest of the colleagues.

“They didn’t deserve this at all.

“And that’s coming from someone who lives in Ambleside.”

Hazel Hodgson said: “We all owe our local pharmacies much-deserved support and thanks for being there when others are not.”

Paul Atkinson said: “Does absolutely nothing for their cause.

“Just overrides their case and arguments through alienation.”

Jackie Doll Wharton said: “Prats!

“Whatever your view, leave people who have worked tirelessly though this awful time alone!”
