A TV star swapped the cobbles for the Lakes this week as he took a tour of Windermere.

Actor Jack P. Shepherd was spotted aboard Windermere Lake Cruises’ Miss Westmorland in Bowness on Thursday.

The 33-year-best known for his role as David Platt in Coronation Street enjoyed the boat company’s island cruise and spent the 45 minute trip taking in the stunning landscape and many islands.

“We were delighted to show Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd the delights of Windermere,” said Jennifer Cormack, sales and marketing director at Windermere Lake Cruises.

“England’s longest lake must have made a nice change from the cobbles of Weatherfield.

“He took our islands cruise from Bowness Pier and spent 45 minutes exploring the many islands (or holmes) of Windermere and learned all about their stories and history.

“The crew of our vessel Miss Westmorland were delighted to be able to show him some of the best views in the country. We hope he and his family had a wonderful trip and we look forward to welcoming them back onboard again in the very near future.”

The company has played host to a number of famous faces recently.

Only last month football legend Gary Lineker took a tour of the mere before heading to lunch in Grasmere.

And in the same month former model and now TV presenter Lisa Snowdon, alongside fellow presenter Natalie Anderson, took a ride on one of the business’ fleet for ITV shows This Morning and Loose Women.
