AN investigation has been launched after a car collided with a wall of a home in Barrow.
Witnesses who may have seen the collision, which took place in Rakesmoor Lane on Friday, are urged to come forward.
Police attended the incident at 11.55pm after it was reported that a white Astra Van had collided with a wall.
A spokeswoman for Cumbria Police confirmed that two people were seen to get out of the vehicle and leave the area.
Further enquiries are ongoing into the incident and no arrest have been made at this time. Damage was caused to the front wall of the property of 80-year-old Brenda Wood, who has lived on the street for more than 40 years.
Her son-in-law, John Sloan, received a call on Saturday morning to say there had been an incident – but never expected the damage to be so extensive.
Neighbours described the crash as an 'almighty bang' and feared their house may be 'caving in'
