A BARROW man has been fined for being on his mobile phone whilst driving in Ulverston, a court heard.
Darren Bell, of Rawlinson Street, was found guilty of the offence dating back to October 23, 2020 on County Road after a trial at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court on July 15.
It was said that the 38-year-old was driving a skip lorry and did not have proper control of the vehicle because he was holding a device in his right hand and did not have eyes on the road for some time, the court was told.
He was given three penalty points and a fine of £375. He also had to pay costs of £300 and a victim surcharge of £37.
