A COLOURFUL parade in South Lakeland saw drummers, crowds and smiles galore.
Ulverston's Flag Festival sees decorative flags waved from businesses and homes in the town.
The festival, which takes place annually, marks the launch of Ulverston’s world-famous festival season.
The pictures are from the edition of the event that took place in 2002.
Schoolchildren paraded from Coronation Hall to Market Cross.
They were led by the band Boneshaker.
Schools that took part were Croftlands Junior School, Croftlands Infant School, Church Walk CE Primary School, Sir John Barrow School and St Mary's School.
Crowds gathered and music was in the air as people enjoyed the festival atmospher.e
