KESWICK has been named the best town in the UK to escape daily life.
A study by Delamere Health concluded that the town of Keswick, with its mountainous surroundings, historic centre and great air quality, is the best getaway destination in the UK.
It got an impressive score of 74.2, according to their methodology, beating out second place St. Ives, Cornwall, by more than 20 points.
Delamere Health noted that travelling to the countryside can be "a tonic for our mental wellbeing."
It especially praised Keswick's walking and hiking routes, of which it counted 285, and its large number of outdoor activities.

The metholody used scored the 30 most popular UK destinations out of 100 on these factors: walking and hiking routes; average hotel price; nature and parks; outdoor activities; air pollution; holiday rentals availability; distance to national parks; campaign spots; restaurants; sights and landmarks.
