THE food hygiene rating for an Indian takeaway in Barrow has been revealed.

Iesha’s received three out of five in the inspection in April of this year.

This indicates food hygiene standards at the site in Rawlinson Street are ‘generally satisfactory’.

The full breakdown of the inspection by officers was as follows:

• Hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, reheating, cooling and storage – good.

• Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building (including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand-washing facilities and pest control) to enable good food hygiene – generally satisfactory.

• System or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future – generally satisfactory.
