MILLOM entertain Barrow Island at Devonshire Road in the Cumbrian division of the National Conference.

The Woolybacks go in search of their third successive win after victories over Hensingham and Askam while the Island were also winners over Askam in their opening fixture last weekend.

Millom Coach Tom Sibley is confident his side can get the two points on offer.

He said “The lads are up for this one as they seek revenge for their defeat at the hands of the Island in the Barton Townley cup recently.

I gave them the night off training on Tuesday so they could watch the England game but they were put through it on Wednesday, and they did work hard.

We just have to continue to work hard and build upon our two wins so far, but Island are always a difficult side to beat.”

Sibley awaits late fitness tests on Ross Brooks (hamstring) and Dane Kelly (torn calf muscle) before finalising his17. Definitely out is forward Astin Mossop who is unavailable.

The Wooybacks now face six away games on the trot and will be put to the test when they meet top teams from the West in Kell’s Wath Brow and Egremont.

Island go into the game minus Spencer Hoyland who lasted only two minutes in the win over Askam last week, he was stretchered off with a ruptured Achille and goes under the knife today.

Island boss Shaun Corrie said “On behalf of all at the club we wish Spencer all the best and a full recovery. “

Corrie is looking at a tough game with the Woolybacks adding “We had a good win over Askam preventing them from scoring, but I know it will be a difficult game.”

Josh McBain and Jack Sutherland are doubtful, but on the plus side Adam Ford is set for his debut while returning are Ryan Clegg, Nathan Sneesby, Matt Parkinson, and Joe Mallinson.

In the NWML, Ulverston are home to Hindley and go into the game on the back of victories over Dalton and Chorley Panthers.

An MRI scan shows Brad Williams requires knee surgery but he will carry on till the operation.

Elliott Stockdale returns from University for Dalton who are away to Haydock however ruled out with knee injuries are Harry Brown and Brad Richards.
