A CONTROVERSIAL licence application for a South Lakeland manor house has been withdrawn, it has been confirmed.
The application concerning Cark Manor had referred to the site being an 'exclusive events' venue that would be used for ‘birthdays, weddings, conferences and all other types of events’.
It had been met with opposition from some Cark-in-Cartmel residents.
However, the application has now been withdrawn, a spokesman for South Lakeland District Council has confirmed.
David Haythornthwaite, one of the owners of Cark Manor Limited, previously stated that he would indeed be withdrawing the application and resubmitting it 'shortly'.
He said he was 'more than happy' to meet any neighbours who had concerns about the application.
