BRAVE souls can bare their bums in a naturist skinny dip and beach clean up taking place this summer.

British Naturism is planning a beach-clean event at North Walney this August - and partakers can enjoy a skinny dip in the sea after ridding the shores of rubbish.

The event comes after Walney was named in recent analysis as having one of the top nudist beaches in the UK.

Ron O’Hare leads naturist events in the county and has been practising the controversial lifestyle choice for more than 20 years.

The 69-year-old, who is a member of British Naturism, is looking forward to the event, which he hopes will attract new faces to bare their birthday suit.

He said: "We've been talking with the people behind the Dynamic Dunescapes project about cleaning up our beaches and thought we could coincide that with a skinny dip in the sea. We've not done a beach clean-up before or been to North Walney before so I'm really looking forward to it."

Legally, any person is allowed to sunbathe naked on any beach, however, good beach etiquette would mean sticking to designated nudist beaches.

A date for the beach clean up is yet to be confirmed by the organisers.
